Before talking about us, I'd like to take you through the beautiful yet faulty Fashion Industry.

Have you ever had that feeling, when you know that you really know everything you need to know about a topic but someone comes out of the darkness with a bright light and with proof and stuff that you can't say no to and tells you totally opposite of what you thought about that topic and your mind is like really blown away? Fast Fashion, Keep Consuming.

The Middle Class is expanding, and the markets are hungry for ways to produce garments at a cheaper price and in huge quantities. Fast Fashion just means allowing consumers to buy more. The Fashion brands keep promoting BUY. BUY. BUY. But you never get to know the end of the story of each clothing item you buy. Here's the end...

Yep, the landfills. Companies promote buying more, and people do buy more but they wear them less often and dispose of them at an unprecedented rate. And THAT is really really bad for the planet. And we need to stop this because Climate Change is a real thing.

This is like 0.00001969% of the whole story, we'd love to tell you the remaining, but you'll have to read the other blogs on our beautiful website because this topic is not summed up in a single blog.

With that said, let's talk about us. The story I just told you before is the reason we started our beautiful and good company 'Cloak & Class'. To say it in a single line, We would change the Fast Fashion to Sustainable Fashion. Sustainability means meeting our own needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.

We, our lovely company, will never in our existence promote BUY. BUY. BUY, we instead believe in Buy less and Buy Good, something that will not kill the only reason for our existence, this lovely planet. I, my brother and my uncle got the Idea of 'Cloak & Class' while selling books. Yep, we did that. We had the money and we wanted to make some more to tell you the truth. We thought that our company would need a lot of money moving forward, we were wrong, of course. We put all our savings into some wallets and sling bags from a third party and started with e-commerce.

We Failed, of course. When you work only for the money you make some weird decisions, in most cases, the decisions are wrong and selfish. After walking on the path of "Give me 'em dollars!" and selling sh*t on our e-commerce platform for almost 6 freaking months we got wiser. We finally believed what the famous entrepreneur, Gary Vee says “Chasing money is the slowest and worst way of getting it.”

So we chose to leave that path, and here we are. Working for something worth working on. We have started this blog series to share everything related to our company with you. We would talk about problems in the fashion industry and also try to figure out some ways to solve them. We would also share our company’s business perspective with you. Basically, we want you to be part of this journey which is destined to do fashion in a better way.
